The last week

was so mild, one day I even had the windows open all day. Spring was in the air. Now we have more snow in the forecast, but it feels like everybody is getting ready for the next season anyways. These two here are definitely give that impression. The first thing I heard when I stepped outside this morning was the wonderful PETERPETERPETER of a Titmouse. And a Chickadee has been busy checking out the nestboxes all week too.

Regardless of that, bird activity remains low, so I am using this time to pack my work schedule. Migration may be already underway and busy times are upon us soon.

Sometimes it feels

like the camera loves some birds more than others. It is very hard to find a Bluebird photo that I dislike, which always makes it tough to choose which ones to keep from a busy day. I loved this one with her furrowed brow. The Titmouse was also posing very nicely. There is a tree trim crew here today so I might shut off live cams during the day. Hopefully the internet stays on, unlike yesterday… Have a great Thursday!

This makes me so happy!

In recent days, the Chickadees and Redbreasted Nuthatches have started taking over, and especially the latter leave me standing with a big grin on my face because they are so cheery, loud and adorable. But wait, there’s more! The Tufted Titmice are back too! One of the custest birds we have here, looking like straight out of a Disney movie, with also one of the best calls - PETERPETERPETER! I hope they stick around, I love these guys so much.

The Titmice

must have a peanut radar as well - sometimes I don’t see any for a couple of days, but once the peanut ratio is replenished in the feeder mix, they show up. They have a surprisingly loud voice for such a little bird, and the other day, I heard the first, almost perfect PETERPETER PETER of the year.

A Titter

to greet the week. I am having a busy couple of days this week so I won’t be posting a lot. As you might have noticed, the livestream is on a little break. Things will be back to normal in about ten days, and I appreciate your patience. Come good into Tuesday!

It's been a wild couple of days

but in the yard, things have been rather calm. The weather is meh, and the birds are scarce. But today, the Titmice were back. And they were so vocal! Come good into Friday!

The Tufted Titmouse

is one of the cutest visitors I have around here, and I am so happy that they made a comeback after having been gone for two years from my yard. Titmice often flock with Chickadees and have an impressive call that can be quite melodious and goes PETERPETERPETER! And that is the November bird in my calendar.

You can get an Ostdrossel calendar here at ostdrossel.com or here.

Also keep an eye on my Insta and FB tomorrow, there will be a little Christmas surprise.

So curious!

The titmice keep coming, yesterday I saw three! And I am crossing my fingers that they like my yard and will keep me company throughout the winter.

Today when I walked outside

to refill the feeders, I heard a familiar birdsong that I hadn't heard in way too long. And lo and behold - there was a group of at least three Tufted Titmice, happily checking out the buffet and singing away. I hope they stay, I have been missing them! (The one in the picture appears to be a young one.) Interestingly enough, I also recently heard people say they spotted red-breasted Nuthatches. I haven’t had any of those guys last winter, so I hope this year they will be back too. And Pine Siskins!
